After entering Myanmar airspace, President Lukashenko's plane was escorted by three Su-30SME fighter jets from the Myanmar Armed Forces (Tatmadaw) and landed smoothly at Naypyidaw Military Airport. The airport welcoming ceremony was conducted with the highest level of state protocol. Myanmar's National Security and Peace Council member and Prime Minister U Nyunt Soe, Union Minister of Transport U Myo Tun Oo, Chairman of the Naypyidaw Metropolitan Council, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and ambassadors from both Myanmar and Belarus were present to warmly welcome the delegation.
On both sides of the red carpet, honor guards stood in neat formation to pay their respects; ethnic cultural groups and dance troupes expressed their enthusiasm with song and dance performances full of Burmese characteristics; students waved the flags of Myanmar and Belarus, shouting in unison, "Wishing President Lukashenko good health and lasting friendship between Myanmar and Belarus." Along the roads extending from the airport, the national flags of both countries fluttered in the wind, and colorful lights and LED billboards complemented each other, with the words "Myanmar warmly welcomes President Alexander Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus" prominently displayed, showcasing the sincere friendship of the host country.
It is understood that Myanmar and Belarus have maintained diplomatic relations for 26 years, and bilateral friendly relations have continued to grow. In 2025, General Min Aung Hlaing paid two state-level friendly visits to Myanmar at the invitation of President Lukashenko. President Lukashenko's visit to Myanmar this time is an important return visit for this friendly interaction.
During the visit, President Lukashenko will hold a high-level meeting with General Min Aung Hlaing to conduct in-depth consultations on deepening friendly cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
