Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service Hun Many announced on November 11th at a civil servant census event held at the ministry headquarters that the Cambodian government will systematically conduct a civil servant census across all 31 ministries and agencies.

The census will be conducted in phases. The first phase will begin in the Ministry of Public Service; the second phase will expand to public education institutions, starting in Phnom Penh's Daun Penh district; and the third phase will extend to health units, starting at the Phnom Penh Four Arms Health Department.

Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many reiterated that the core purpose of this census is not to investigate civil servant errors or impose any penalties, but rather to verify the actual data on civil servants currently performing their duties in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the actual situation.

He pointed out, "As we have widely publicized, what we are currently doing is verifying the data in the system, confirming the actual organizational structure and the situation of personnel performing their duties, and not intending to tamper with any information."

Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many appealed to all civil servants to cooperate actively and without concern. He pointed out that clear and accurate data is the foundation for modernizing the public administration system, and the successful completion of the census depends on the participation and support of everyone. Hunmani further pointed out that integrating consistent census data will bring multiple benefits: providing accurate data for civil servant status management, personnel planning, recruitment, and skills development; incorporating relevant data into a unified technical system will facilitate the handling of matters such as job changes, salary payments, promotions, and welfare management, thereby significantly improving administrative efficiency; and understanding the actual personnel structure and responsibility allocation of various agencies will help optimize agency operational efficiency, enhance the ability to cope with actual work, and further improve the efficiency of national budget expenditures.
