
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the afternoon of November 11th, King Norodom Sihamoni personally presided over the extinguishing ceremony of the "Victory Flame" to mark Independence Day, signifying the successful conclusion of a series of commemorative activities celebrating the 72nd anniversary of the Kingdom of Cambodia's independence.

The extinguishing ceremony was solemnly held at the Independence Monument in Phnom Penh. Important national leaders and guests attending the ceremony included Senate President Hun Sen, National Assembly President Khun Sokhonn, Prime Minister Hun Manet, members of the King's Supreme Advisory Council, Senate members, National Assembly members, government representatives, and tens of thousands of citizens.

The "Victory Flame," symbolizing the light and freedom of the Cambodian people after gaining independence, was lit on November 9th and burned for three full days. November 9th is an extremely important anniversary in Cambodian history, commemorating the 72nd anniversary of Cambodia's successful liberation from French colonial rule and the restoration of complete freedom and sovereignty under the heroic leadership of the great Father of the Nation, Norodom Sihanouk.
As in previous years, grand celebrations were held throughout the country to commemorate this historic moment of regaining sovereignty and freedom, with particularly grand celebrations at the Independence Monument in Phnom Penh and in various provinces of Cambodia.
