According to reports, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is ready for substantive discussions and hopes that the outcome of these negotiations will lead to a genuine and dignified end to the conflict.
In his address that evening, Zelenskyy stated that he would meet with the Ukrainian delegation to prepare for the talks and agree on a framework for discussion. He also indicated that intensive diplomatic activities are expected over the next month.
Zelenskyy expressed hope that the United States would maintain the same level of enthusiasm, particularly in reducing airstrikes and de-escalating the conflict. He pointed out that whether the Ukrainian people can trust this process and its final outcome largely depends on the United States.
The first trilateral meeting of the working group on security issues, composed of representatives from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine, concluded on January 24th in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Zelenskyy stated that this trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia was the first two-day trilateral meeting held in a relatively long period of time, with a wide range of topics discussed and a constructive process.
