Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – In response to the recent destruction of a Hindu statue in a disputed area along the Cambodia-Thailand border, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MOFA) issued a formal statement condemning this disrespectful act and calling on all parties involved to resolve the conflict through diplomatic means.

According to reports, a Hindu statue located in the disputed territory of the Anse region in Preah Vihear province was previously demolished by Thai troops using excavators. This incident has drawn widespread attention from believers in the region and has also attracted the attention of the Indian government.

MOFA spokesperson Jaswal issued a statement on the matter on the 24th. Jaswal confirmed that India had taken note of the reports regarding the removal of the Hindu statue. He pointed out that although the statue was recently constructed, its location is in a sensitive area long affected by the Cambodia-Thailand border dispute.

The statement emphasized that Hindu and Buddhist statues, as core components of the region's shared cultural heritage, are deeply revered by people in Southeast Asia and around the world.

The MOFA stated that regardless of the current status of the territorial dispute, such disrespectful acts of demolition severely hurt the feelings of believers worldwide. India clearly stated that such incidents "should not happen." The Indian government has again urged Cambodia and Thailand to exercise restraint and return to dialogue and diplomacy to avoid further casualties and to do everything possible to protect cultural heritage and property from damage.
