Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The French meteorological service reported on the 22nd that Storm Ingrid is expected to make landfall in France from the Atlantic Ocean on the 23rd, significantly impacting the western Brittany region.

The French meteorological service stated that the storm will first affect the coastal areas of Brittany before continuing its inland movement. Weather forecasts indicate that gusts along the western coast are expected to reach 110 kilometers per hour, while inland areas may experience winds of 80 to 90 kilometers per hour. Significant rainfall is also expected, with some areas potentially experiencing continuous rain. Snowfall is anticipated in parts of the Cévennes Mountains and the Alps.

Due to the strong winds, sea conditions along the French coast will deteriorate significantly, with waves expected to reach 6 to 8 meters. Currently, three departments in the Brittany region have issued orange flood warnings due to previous heavy rainfall, and the large waves will slow the receding of existing floodwaters. These warnings are expected to remain in effect until the 23rd.

The meteorological department pointed out that this storm is a rapidly intensifying extratropical cyclone, with a pressure drop of approximately 30 hPa within 24 hours, a phenomenon known in meteorology as a "weather bomb." The meteorological department will continue to monitor the storm's path and intensity changes and update relevant warnings in a timely manner. (End)
