
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The "Galloping Horse Welcomes Spring, Composing a New Chapter – Chinese New Year Reception and Concert" was recently held in Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, Germany. More than 100 guests from local political, economic, cultural, and educational fields attended the event.
Bo Tao, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Leibniz Institute in Hanover, reviewed the main achievements of the Confucius Institute in 2025 and introduced several key projects to be held in Hanover in 2026, including the German-language finals of the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Secondary School Students, a Chinese language showcase for primary school students, and a Sino-German international conference. He expressed his hope that all sectors of society would continue to pay attention to and support Sino-German cultural exchanges and cooperation.
Professor Hanschke, former head of Sino-German university cooperation at the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and former rector of Clausthal University of Technology, reviewed the development of Sino-German exchanges in his speech. He stated that it was through repeated face-to-face exchanges and in-depth dialogues that he personally felt the resilience and vitality inherent in Sino-German cooperation.
In his address, Jin Songbao, Deputy Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Hamburg, pointed out that Lower Saxony was one of the first German federal states to establish sister-state relations with China, and has long maintained close and in-depth economic cooperation and high-level exchanges with Anhui Province, China. The solid foundation of Sino-German relations is not only reflected in strategic dialogues at the national level, but also deeply rooted in long-term, pragmatic, and fruitful exchanges and cooperation between local and regional levels. The people-to-people exchanges promoted by cultural and educational institutions such as the Confucius Institute are an important support for the steady and long-term development of Sino-German local cooperation.
That evening, three musicians from Anhui Province presented a concert of traditional Chinese folk music, featuring instruments such as the drum, pipa, and zhongruan, showcasing the unique charm of traditional Chinese music.
This event was hosted by the Confucius Institute at Leibniz Hanover, co-organized by several Anhui provincial institutions in Germany, and supported by the Chinese Consulate General in Hamburg. (End)
