Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to the official WeChat account of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Düsseldorf, a food poisoning incident occurred among some Chinese exhibitors during the MEDICA medical equipment exhibition in Düsseldorf.
Upon discovering the incident, the Consulate General immediately contacted various parties to inquire about the victims' conditions, express condolences, and offer consular assistance. The Consulate General also requested local police to strengthen protection for the safety and interests of Chinese-funded institutions, enterprises, and citizens in the consular district during large-scale exhibitions.
To prevent similar incidents from recurring, the Consulate General intends to use this incident as an opportunity to urge the German Chinese Restaurant Association to guide the Chinese restaurant industry in North Rhine-Westphalia to conduct industry self-regulation and self-inspection.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese Consulate General in Düsseldorf confirmed on the 20th that over 100 Chinese participants who traveled to Germany on the 17th to attend the 2025 Düsseldorf International Medical Equipment Fair experienced symptoms of food poisoning.
