Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – U.S. District Judge Jia Cobb of the District of Columbia ruled on the 20th that the Trump administration's deployment of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., was illegal.

Cobb stated that the Trump administration's military takeover of Washington, D.C., "illegally violated the law enforcement authority of local officials." While the president has the authority to protect federal property, he does not have the authority to unilaterally deploy the National Guard in Washington, D.C., to combat crime, nor does he have the authority to call in troops from other states to combat crime. Therefore, the Trump administration's deployment of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., must cease in 21 days.

Washington, D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb filed a lawsuit in September against the Trump administration's deployment of the National Guard in Washington, D.C. Schwalb stated that the president's use of the military for law enforcement set a "dangerous precedent," and the lawsuit was filed to defend Washington's local autonomy and prevent the "illegal deployment" of the National Guard.

White House Deputy Press Secretary Jackson stated that the president has the authority to deploy the National Guard in Washington, D.C., to protect federal property and assist local law enforcement in carrying out specific tasks. The lawsuit aims to harm the interests of Washington, D.C. residents and undermine President Trump's achievements in combating crime. On August 11, Trump announced the deployment of National Guard troops to assist in restoring law and order and public safety in Washington, D.C. Currently, the Trump administration has more than 2,300 National Guard troops deployed in Washington, D.C. (End)
