Kang Zhen, Vice President of Beijing Normal University, presided over the forum. After the forum, Yu Jihong, President of Beijing Normal University, met with the Taiwanese guests.
In his address, Vice President Wang Ming stated that Chinese culture is the spiritual lifeline of the Chinese nation and the shared spiritual home of compatriots on both sides of the Strait. He emphasized that deepening cross-Strait cultural ties and continuing the bloodline of Chinese culture are the foundation for jointly promoting this cultural treasure. As the birthplace of modern higher normal education in China, Beijing Normal University has always used education and culture as a link, establishing regular mechanisms for faculty exchange, student visits, and collaborative research with many universities, including Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. Through projects such as the "Seeing China: Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Youth Film Project," it has built a broad platform for young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to experience Chinese culture and enhance their cultural identity.
In this traditional culture forum, scholars and entrepreneurs from both sides of the Taiwan Strait exchanged views on themes such as the inheritance of traditional culture, international dissemination, intangible cultural heritage protection, and interdisciplinary integration. The first half focused on classical texts and philosophical thought, while the second half extended to fields such as cultural industries, ecological protection, and biotechnology, showcasing the multidimensional vitality of Chinese culture in contemporary society.
Before the forum began, the "Dongli Poetry Society" of Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan and the "Nanshan Poetry Society" of Beijing Normal University performed a recitation of the *Classic of Poetry*, interpreting the classics with ancient rhymes and vividly demonstrating the vibrant inheritance of traditional culture among young people.
This forum is an important part of the Third Cross-Strait Summit on Chinese Culture, hosted by Beijing Normal University and jointly organized by the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs, the Institute of Chinese Culture | Jing Shi Academy, and the School of Literature of Beijing Normal University.
