Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Li Quan, Deputy Director of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Management Committee, stated at a press conference on the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon on the 23rd that the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon innovatively sets up two participation methods: autonomous navigation and remote control. This allows for competition on the same track, mixed timing, and unified ranking. Autonomous navigation teams must complete the race autonomously from the start, with necessary human intervention only in specific scenarios such as sudden malfunctions or safety hazards, after confirmation by the referees. Remote-controlled robots are operated by participating team members from designated follow-up vehicles.

Li Quan stated that, focusing on the core goal of "promoting skills and innovation through competition," the event, based on the verification results of the first on-site test, has systematically optimized and improved the competition rules in three key dimensions: participation standards, track rules, and timing penalties.

Firstly, the participation standards have been further clarified. The competition is fully open to relevant domestic and international enterprises, universities, and research institutions, widely attracting various high-quality participants, further broadening the scope of participation and enhancing the industry influence of the event. To ensure fairness and impartiality in the competition, we have clearly defined the hardware standards for participating robots and established a strict and standardized qualification review mechanism to ensure the competition is fair, orderly, standardized, and efficient.

Secondly, the track rules have been further refined. The competition innovatively sets up two participation methods: autonomous navigation and remote control. This allows for competition on the same track, mixed timing, and unified ranking. Autonomous navigation teams must complete the race autonomously from the start. Human intervention will only be necessary in specific scenarios such as sudden malfunctions or safety hazards, after confirmation by the judges. Remote-controlled robots are operated by participating team members from designated follow-up vehicles. Seven supply stations and emergency response points are scientifically set up along the track for critical operations such as battery replacement and robot replacement.

Thirdly, the timing and penalty system has been further improved. Regarding timing rules, the net time score of remote-controlled teams must be multiplied by a coefficient of 1.2 to guide and encourage the research and application of autonomous navigation technology. Regarding penalty details, the punishment standards for various violations have been further refined. Specific handling methods have been clarified for behaviors such as robot replacement, battery replacement outside supply stations, and interference with other robots, strengthening rigid constraints.

Li Quan said that from the evening of March 14th to the early morning of March 15th, the event successfully organized its first large-scale, full-element open field test of a humanoid robot half marathon. This was not only a practical test of the autonomous navigation robots' movement capabilities under real road conditions, but also a systematic exercise of various tasks such as event organization, safety assurance, and collaborative coordination, laying a solid foundation for the smooth running of the event.
