Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the 30th, reporters learned from the Zhejiang Coast Guard Bureau that the Taizhou Coast Guard Bureau recently cracked down on two cases of illegal fishing in the waters near Sanmen and Dachen, apprehending 16 suspects and seizing nearly 6,000 jin (approximately 3,000 catties) of fish.
At approximately 1:25 AM on July 24th, the Taizhou Coast Guard Bureau dispatched multiple officers to conduct a surprise inspection in the Sanmendong Port area of Taizhou, uncovering an illegal fishing case and arresting 11 individuals. 102 baskets of fish, including swimming crabs, weighing approximately 5,000 jin (approximately 2,000 catties), were seized at the scene, along with approximately 100 fishing nets found in a suspected vehicle.
At approximately 4:00 AM on the 27th, the bureau received another report and dispatched the Mingbei Coast Guard vessel, along with officers from the work station, to conduct a comprehensive patrol of the target waters. Two suspected vessels and 40 fish traps were seized on site, and five suspects were apprehended. Approximately 800 jin (400 catties) of catch, including crabs and mantis shrimp, were confiscated. Both cases are currently under further investigation.
During the summer fishing moratorium, the Zhejiang Coast Guard Bureau strictly implemented fishing moratorium management measures and severely cracked down on all types of fishing-related illegal and criminal activities.
