According to Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com), in 2025, 7.857 million people from South and Southeast Asian countries entered China through Yunnan Province, accounting for 52.2% of the province's total inbound travelers. Among them, 511,000 entered visa-free, a year-on-year increase of 55.1%. Yunnan has gradually become the first stop for South and Southeast Asian travelers entering China.
This information was obtained by reporters on February 3rd at a press conference held by the Yunnan Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station to support Yunnan's high-level opening-up and high-quality development.
The conference also announced that in 2025, the Yunnan Entry-Exit Border Inspection Station processed over 30.16 million inbound and outbound passengers in Yunnan Province, a year-on-year increase of 21.8%; and processed over 3.3 million inbound and outbound vehicles (aircraft, ships, trains), a year-on-year decrease of 3.6%.
Among them, Kunming Changshui International Airport processed over 3.69 million inbound and outbound passengers in 2025, ranking 9th among all airport ports in China; Mohan Railway Port processed 291,500 inbound and outbound passengers, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%; and Guanlei Port saw an nearly fourfold increase in inbound and outbound passengers year-on-year.
Yunnan borders Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam, and is connected to Thailand and Cambodia via the Lancang-Mekong River, serving as China's window and gateway to South and Southeast Asia. (End)
