Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Reporters learned from the Yunnan Provincial Emergency Management Department on the 22nd that in 2025, the number of various production safety accidents and fatalities in the province decreased by 10.9% and 7.0% respectively year-on-year, achieving a "double decrease." The number of forest and grassland fires dropped to single digits for the first time, and the safety production situation remained stable.
Forest and grassland fire prevention and control are of paramount importance to Yunnan's safety production. During the previous fire prevention period, the province investigated a total of 19,000 fire hazards, strengthened the revision of emergency plans and the training and drills of key personnel in professional firefighting teams, increased the intensity of aerial firefighting aircraft patrols, and implemented 24-hour joint duty and forward deployment of forest fire brigades. Public security organs refined the "four quicks and four details" mechanism for handling fire cases, achieving a 100% fire case clearance rate. As of the end of the prevention period on June 15th, the province received and handled only two forest fire reports, achieving a historic breakthrough by reducing the number of forest and grassland fires to single digits for the first time.
During the three-year campaign to fundamentally improve workplace safety, Yunnan Province focused on building a long-term risk prevention and control mechanism. Throughout the year, 34,600 major accident hazards were identified, with a dynamic rectification rate of 99.46%. Enterprises were urged to establish internal reporting reward mechanisms for hazards, with over 12 million yuan in rewards distributed. 5,442 enterprises were designated as standardized safety production enterprises. Monitoring and early warning systems were completed for 37 non-coal mines, 18 spoil heaps, and 346 tailings ponds. 141 coal mines were equipped with dual-circuit power supply systems. 7,317 kilometers of highway safety and life protection projects were constructed. 215 dangerous bridges were renovated. 540 reservoirs underwent reinforcement and safety improvement. 11 tailings ponds were closed and decommissioned.
The Yunnan Provincial Emergency Management Department stated that in 2026, it will focus on key areas and weak links, increase investment in safety risk monitoring and early warning systems, promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional high-risk industries, and strive to shift the workplace safety governance model towards proactive prevention.
