Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The core component of the Kunming Changshui International Airport expansion and renovation project – the East Second Runway and its ancillary facilities – recently passed its final acceptance inspection, marking the project's official transition from the construction phase to the operational preparation phase.
As a key national and civil aviation construction project, the project commenced construction in September 2023 and is scheduled for full completion in November 2025. The construction includes a new 4F-level runway, taxiways, connecting taxiways, as well as key facilities such as navigation lights, drainage, fire protection, security facilities, and supporting low-voltage electrical systems, fully meeting the high-standard aviation operation requirements.
During the construction period, facing multiple challenges such as complex geological conditions, high safety pressure from construction without interrupting operations, and stringent technical standards, the Hub Construction Command, in collaboration with Kunming Changshui International Airport and all participating units, consistently adhered to the principles of "safety first, quality foremost, technology-driven, and green construction." Through optimizing construction techniques and strengthening full-process management, the project was advanced safely, with high quality and efficiency, fully demonstrating a high level of comprehensive project management capabilities.
The completion and acceptance process was rigorous and standardized. The acceptance team conducted a comprehensive inspection of the project's quality, the compliance of the construction procedures, and the completeness of the documentation through various methods, including listening to reports, on-site verification, and reviewing documents. The final acceptance conclusion clearly stated that the project's construction content and scale met the approved design requirements, the construction quality met national and industry standards, the construction procedures were legal and compliant, and the project documentation was complete and accurate. The team unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance.
The successful completion of this acceptance lays a solid foundation for Kunming Changshui International Airport to further enhance its comprehensive support capabilities and consolidate its position as a regional aviation hub, and will strongly support the optimization of the regional air transport network and high-quality economic and social development.
