Approximately 85% of insurance claims related to the fire at Hung Fook Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong, have been processed.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) announced on the 3rd that, as of now, 1,032 insurance claims related to the Tai Po Hung Fook Court fire have been processed, representing approximately 85% of the total, involving nearly HK$510 million.

  The Hong Kong Insurance Authority stated that following the Tai Po Hung Fook Court fire, the agency fully coordinated with insurance companies to provide support to affected individuals and closely monitored the progress of claims processing.

  The Hong Kong Insurance Authority reported that there were 1,030 general insurance claims, of which 863 have been processed, involving approximately HK$450 million; and 188 life insurance claims, of which 169 have been processed, involving approximately HK$60 million.

  The agency's Chief Executive Officer, Cheung Wan-ching, said that he understands most of the Hung Fook Court fire claims have been successfully resolved based on the principle of fair treatment, while the remaining cases require on-site inspections and damage assessments. The Hong Kong Insurance Authority will continue to actively follow up with the Hong Kong Federation of Insurers. (over)
