The 8th Legislative Council election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region was successfully held.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Voting in the 8th Legislative Council election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) concluded smoothly at approximately 11:30 PM on the 7th, followed by vote counting. The election results are expected to be announced on the 8th.

  Voting began at 7:30 AM on the 7th, with over 600 polling stations open throughout Hong Kong, accommodating approximately 4.13 million registered voters.

  After voting concluded, most polling stations were designated as counting stations. Ballots from functional constituencies and the Election Committee constituency were sent to the central counting station at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for counting. All election results will be announced at the press center located at the central counting station.

  The new HKSAR Legislative Council will consist of 90 members, including 40 elected by the Election Committee, 30 elected by functional constituencies, and 20 elected by geographical constituencies. 161 candidates participated in the election, ensuring competition for every seat.

  The term of the 8th HKSAR Legislative Council will begin on January 1, 2026, and will be four years. (End)
