  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) announced on the 3rd its plan to establish an office in Hong Kong to meet its growing business needs. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government welcomed the announcement and stated its full support for the AIIB in further promoting the sustainable development of infrastructure in Asia.

  Hong Kong Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui expressed his delight at the AIIB's decision to establish an office in Hong Kong and pledged to actively cooperate with the AIIB and provide necessary support for the establishment of the office. As an AIIB member, Hong Kong has been committed to assisting the AIIB in fully utilizing Hong Kong's vibrant capital markets, world-class professional services, and diversified financial products to support the bank's operations in project financing, bond issuance, investment, and financial management. Hong Kong will continue to leverage its unique advantages under the "One Country, Two Systems" principle to make positive contributions to the long-term development of the AIIB.

  The AIIB, established in 2015, is an international multilateral development bank initiated by China and jointly established by 57 countries. Hong Kong, China, officially became a member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in June 2017. (End)
