The 7th China International Ballet Season Concludes

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The closing gala of the 7th China International Ballet Season was recently staged at the Tianqiao Theater in Beijing. As the final chapter of this season, artists from top ballet companies in France, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States joined artists from the National Ballet of China to present a ballet extravaganza that blended classical and contemporary styles, bringing the nearly three-month-long China International Ballet Season to a close.

  The closing gala was star-studded. Principal dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet, the Netherlands National Ballet, the Hamburg Ballet, the Dortmund Ballet, and the Philadelphia Ballet, among other international ballet stars, joined principal dancers from the National Ballet of China, including Qiu Yunting, Xu Yan, Ma Xiaodong, and Li Wentao, on stage. Accompanied by the magnificent live music of the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, classic excerpts from classical ballet and masterpieces of contemporary ballet were presented in turn.

  The 7th China International Ballet Season, hosted by the National Ballet of China and organized by the Tianqiao Theater, opened on October 24, 2025. As a major biennial international ballet event, this season brings together numerous internationally renowned ballet companies and artists, presenting high-level performances with diverse styles, vividly fulfilling the original intention of "letting Chinese audiences see the world from Tianqiao."

  The season opened with a grand performance of *Don Quixote* by the Spanish National Dance Company. Making its debut at the China International Ballet Season, the company skillfully blended the classical beauty of ballet with the passionate emotions of Spain, offering audiences a refreshing viewing experience. Following this, the Milan Ballet of Italy's *Legend of Shadows* showcased artistic imagination through a crossover expression of film music and ballet.

  As the host, the National Ballet of China presented several major works throughout the season. The new version of the ballet *Le Corsaire* showcases the charm of classical ballet with its grand stage and vivid character portrayals; the classic dramatic ballet *Onegin* features Friedman Vogel, principal dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet, as a guest star, and the joint performance by Chinese and foreign artists has been met with enthusiastic responses; the original ballet *The Twelve Zodiacs* by the National Ballet of China vividly interprets the contemporary vitality of excellent traditional Chinese culture with a childlike interpretation.

  During the performance season, a series of art popularization activities were also launched, including public performances, open rehearsals, masterclasses, themed photography exhibitions, and public lectures, leading audiences into the world of ballet and making art a beautiful life experience.
