Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2025 International Forum on the Dissemination of Chinese Culture, themed "Confidence, Inclusiveness, and Innovation: Enhancing the Influence and Spread of Chinese Civilization," was held in Beijing on the 19th.
Chang Bo, Director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, emphasized that the world is undergoing rapid changes, requiring us to enhance cultural awareness and uphold cultural identity amidst cultural collisions. We must value the inheritance and innovation of civilization, and build consensus and promote shared human values through exchanges and mutual learning with other civilizations. We must strengthen our cultural confidence, solidify the spiritual foundation for the inheritance and development of Chinese civilization, and deeply interpret the Chinese path to modernization. We must adhere to openness and inclusiveness, implement the four global initiatives, and promote the building of a global network for dialogue and cooperation among civilizations. We must strengthen technological empowerment, continuously promote the integration of culture and technology, and give wings to cultural innovation.
Gao Shiming, Vice Chairman and Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, pointed out that the vigorous development of the digital economy and intelligent technologies will give rise to a profound and widespread transformation. It is necessary to form genuine socialist cultural leadership through innovation and development, and to broadly gather global strength to build a multi-party collaborative, diverse, and open "innovation consortium" and "cross-border reactor," drawing strength from the real lives, historical experiences, and social consciousness of people around the world.
Li Jingze, Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association, stated that promoting Chinese literature to a better global audience is a mission entrusted to Chinese writers by the times, an inescapable responsibility of Chinese literature, and an attitude of sharing beauty, understanding, and the future with the world. The China Writers Association is continuously expanding the exchange framework between Chinese literature and world civilizations, and looks forward to jointly writing a new chapter of mutual learning among civilizations in the new era with all sectors.
The forum also included the launch ceremony of the "Air-Ground Integrated Interactive Cultural Communication Platform." The platform, jointly created by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration's Cultural Communication Center, the China Theatre Association, and the China National Space Administration's News and Publicity Center, innovatively integrates aerospace technology with cultural dissemination, using my country's first cultural communication satellite, "Youxi," as a key node. It aims to construct a new paradigm of "shared space-ground communication and two-way interaction."
Following this, the event showcased the video "Literature Carries the Way, Satellites Transmit Voices—Chinese Writers' Confessions in Space" and "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains in the New Era," composed of over 20,000 satellite images. These works, along with the space scene video broadcast by the "Youxi" satellite and the satellite photos from "A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains in the New Era," will be included in the National Archives of China.
The forum also released the "2025 Report on the International Dissemination of Chinese Culture." Jointly produced by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration's Cultural Communication Center and the Institute for Cultural Innovation and Communication at Beijing Normal University, the report comprehensively presents the historical context, practical overview, hot topic analysis, and future prospects of the international dissemination of Chinese culture in 2025 through a three-dimensional and dynamic observation framework.
The Yangtze River Culture Research Institute and the Yangtze River Culture International Communication Center released the academic monograph "The Yangtze River: A Global Cultural IP Narrative of a Great River," systematically discussing the construction process of the Yangtze River as a global cultural IP and contributing practical examples to the protection and development of global river basin civilizations. The launch ceremony for the cultural English textbook series "The Charm of Chinese Culture" was also held on-site. The textbook, meticulously planned by the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration's Chinese Language Teaching Press in conjunction with 100 universities nationwide, aims to help Chinese students master the English expression of Chinese culture and also enable international students in China to better understand Chinese culture.
During the thematic sharing session, Chen Yongquan, Vice Chairman of the China Theatre Association; Zhang Yiwu, Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University; Yu Dan, Dean of the Institute of Cultural Innovation and Communication at Beijing Normal University; Chen Lijun, an outstanding young actress from the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe; and Liu Yu, a self-media creator, shared their experiences in the international dissemination of Chinese culture.
That afternoon, seven parallel sub-forums, covering topics such as drama and cultural communication, the charm of Chinese culture, poetry and cultural communication, music and cultural communication, acrobatics and cultural communication, Chinese aesthetics and cultural communication, and intangible cultural heritage and cultural communication, explored the practical experience of international dissemination of Chinese culture from different sub-fields.
