Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the evening of July 14th, the "Eastern Overture: Red Songs Resound – Chinese Folk Song Performance in Jixi" event was held in Jixi City. More than 40 folk singers from 11 provinces and cities across the country gathered on the banks of the Ussuri River to sing folk songs from various regions. Over 30,000 audience members attended the event to listen to the folk songs.

At 7 PM that day, as the evening breeze blew across the banks of the Ussuri River, the Chinese folk song performance also began in Jixi City, on the banks of the Ussuri River. The entire performance opened with a song titled "Sing a Folk Song for the Party," with singers dressed in costumes representing various industries and ethnic groups, singing the same song together.

Shandong's "Yimeng Mountain Ballad," Jiangxi's "Hakka Children's Hearts Turn to the Party," and Ningxia's singers performing "The Red Army Brother Came to Liupan Mountain"... Folk songs from all over the country, each with its own unique characteristics, brought the atmosphere to a climax. Bu Xiaogang from Shaanxi Province sang "The East Is Red," a folk song with a distinctive Shaanbei flavor, allowing the audience to personally experience the charm of Shaanbei folk tunes.

You Zhongmei, an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of Hezhe ethnic minority folk songs from Heilongjiang Province, dressed in a fish-skin coat, performed her self-composed "New Hezhe Song," using her voice to tell more people about the happy life of the Hezhe people today.

Ye Xiang from Jiangsu Province said, "This is my first time in Heilongjiang. I brought the Jiangsu folk song 'Sending My Husband to the Army.' I've gained a lot from exchanging and learning with folk song performers from all over the country."

On July 15th, this series of events will also include three more performances in Hulin City and Jidong County.

"I used to only hear these folk songs on TV. This is the first time I've heard them live. It's very moving and inspiring. The folk songs make me feel the vastness of our country, and I feel very happy and empowered," said audience member Liu Mingyuan, who drove his family there specifically to hear the folk songs.

This event was hosted by the Leading Group for the Publication Project of the Complete Collection of Chinese Folk Literature, the China Folk Literature and Art Association, the Heilongjiang Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Jixi Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Jixi Municipal People's Government.
