Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The "Vast Transformation of Mountains and Rivers: Professor Zhang Yujiang's Oil Painting Exhibition" opened on the afternoon of the 24th at the Lotus Art Space in Macau, bringing representative works by Zhang Yujiang, including his "Yanshan Landscape" series, to Macau residents and tourists.
The exhibited works cover diverse themes such as the black soil of Northeast China, ancient villages in the Yanshan Mountains, and rural still lifes. With rich, deep colors and simple, profound brushstrokes, the works interpret Zhang Yujiang's artistic philosophy, revealing both the profound imprint of realism and the humanistic sentiments of modern Chinese rural art.
In his speech, Li Zisong, Chairman of the Macau Cultural Federation and President of the Lotus International Art Exchange Association, stated that the exhibition's location in Macau holds special cultural significance. Macau's unique historical heritage has created a cultural characteristic of "East meets West, ancient meets modern," and the traditional Chinese cultural genes and realist spirit embodied in Zhang Yujiang's works resonate wonderfully with Macau's cultural character.
At the opening ceremony, Zhang Yujiang shared his creative insights. He stated that artistic creation should adhere to the principle that "brush and ink should reflect the times." These works, rooted in reality, are not only a profound understanding of the northern landscape but also a vivid carrier of cultural identity. He hopes to allow Macao audiences to experience the cultural heritage and natural beauty of China.
It is reported that Zhang Yujiang is a director of the Hebei Provincial Artists Association and a professor at the School of Art and Design, Yanshan University. For decades, he has dedicated himself to teaching oil painting, capturing the warmth and coldness of human relationships and the traces of time with his brush, from the black soil of Northeast China to the ancient villages deep in the Yanshan Mountains, from still lifes in ordinary alleys to the spring blossoms and autumn harvests in mountain villages.
