
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 25th Annual Meeting of the China Higher Education Film and Television Association and the 18th China Higher Education Film and Television Academic Forum opened at Xiamen University on the 15th.
This year's annual meeting was jointly hosted by the China Higher Education Film and Television Association and Xiamen University. More than 750 experts and scholars from universities at home and abroad, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing Normal University, Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy, Xiamen University, Macau University of Science and Technology, and the Bulgarian National Academy of Arts, gathered to discuss how Chinese film and television can promote the prosperity and development of socialist culture and solidly advance the construction of a culturally strong nation, under the theme of "New Journey, New Mission: Chinese Film and Television and the Construction of a Culturally Strong Nation."
At the opening ceremony, the 6th National Higher Education Film and Television Discipline Construction Achievement Exhibition and the 4th National College Film and Television Works Joint Screening Event were unveiled, and the China Higher Education Film and Television Association Intangible Cultural Heritage Image Creation and Research Center (Xiamen University) was inaugurated.
As a key component of this year's annual conference, the 18th China University Film and Television Academic Forum was themed "New Journey, New Mission: Chinese Film and Television and the Construction of a Culturally Strong Nation." Five renowned experts and scholars delivered speeches on this theme from different fields and perspectives. In addition to the main forum, eight special forums and 26 thematic forums were held, along with a special academic seminar commemorating the 130th anniversary of world cinema and the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema.
This year's annual conference featured 36 academic activities, nearly 300 papers presented, and nearly 400 speakers. The conference also included three special film screenings, two university film and television production exhibitions, one creator exchange session, and one exhibition showcasing academic achievements.
Among these, the special film screenings commemorating the 130th anniversary of world cinema and the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema presented five films to all members of the association and faculty and students of Xiamen University: *Little Me*, *Good Things*, *Blue Star Outside the Window*, *Black Stallion*, and *Cinema Paradiso*. The 4th National College Film and Television Joint Screening Event will feature over 30 films screened live and over 280 films screened online. (End)
