Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On February 13, 2026, Mr. Chuwat Narintrankula, Director General of the Thai Agency for International Cooperation (TICA), met with Mr. Arnold Vicky, Assistant Director General of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC, under the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs), in Bangkok. The two sides held pragmatic talks on deepening cooperation in multiple fields and establishing mechanisms, reaching several consensuses.

During the talks, both sides focused on exploring opportunities for expanding cooperation in areas such as cross-border pollution control, collaborative water resource management, and disaster preparedness and response. They also clarified their commitment to continuing the third phase of the "Poverty Reduction through Safe Migration, Skills Development and Enhanced Employment Placement" (PROMISE) project, jointly implemented with the International Labour Organization (ILO). This project will focus on improving the professional skills of foreign workers in Thailand, further expanding their legal employment channels, and contributing to the optimization of the regional labor market. During the talks, the Thai side specifically expressed its intention to launch trilateral cooperation with Switzerland in the field of African agriculture. This move aligns with the relevant policies under the Thailand-Africa Initiative (TAI) framework mentioned in the previous statement by the Foreign Minister, aiming to empower sustainable agricultural development in Africa through technology sharing and resource linkage. Furthermore, the two sides held in-depth consultations on the feasibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding on development cooperation between the Thai Agency for International Cooperation (TICA) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), laying the foundation for the standardization and long-term effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.

This meeting provided an important communication platform for deepening development cooperation between Thailand and Switzerland. Going forward, both sides will implement concrete measures to achieve the agreed cooperation goals, helping bilateral relations and regional collaborative development to move to a new stage.
