Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that the 4th CineAsia 2025 Asian Film Festival will be held from December 8th to 11th at ICONSIAM's Icon Cineconic and True Icon Hall. This grand event, co-organized by Major Cineplex Group and Film Expo Group, brings together over 3,500 participants from 50 countries, including Hollywood filmmakers, international investors, and top Asia-Pacific film companies. The event includes core components such as film technology exhibitions, equipment demonstrations, and industry expert seminars. This not only solidifies Thailand's important position in the global film industry and creative economy but also puts into practice its long-term film tourism development plan under the "New Thailand" strategy.
In his opening remarks at the IMAX stage of ICONSIAM, Niti Sipra, Deputy Director of Marketing and Communications at the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stated that Thailand is currently guided by the "New Thailand" strategy, shifting its focus from pursuing quantity to cultivating value, and is striving to build a high-end tourism destination. Through its global promotional campaign, "Unforgettable Experiences: Healing is Luxury," Thailand is inviting travelers worldwide to embark on a journey of spiritual healing. Filmmakers choosing Thailand for filming can effectively convey local stories, landscapes, and culture to a global audience, transforming cinematic scenes into actual travel destinations. This demonstrates the Tourism Authority of Thailand's determination to solidify its leading position as a film tourism destination. This strategy focuses on core qualities such as health, sustainability, and contemporary culture, precisely aligning with global travelers' needs for authentic experiences and emotional resonance, contributing to a more balanced tourism ecosystem.
Thailand's influence as a world-class film production center continues to expand. Internationally, works such as *Jurassic World* (filmed in Krabi, Trang, and Phang Nga), *White Lotus* Season 3, and earlier classics like *The Beach*, *The Hangover Part II*, *007*, and *Fast & Furious 9* have all showcased Thailand's natural beauty and hospitality to the world. Domestically, critically acclaimed films such as *Lahn Mah* and *Useful Ghosts* demonstrate the creativity and technical prowess of Thai filmmakers, further strengthening its appeal as a prime filming location and a source of unique stories. Looking ahead, Nithit Sipura pointed out that Thailand is enhancing its global competitiveness by strengthening its film production infrastructure, cultivating professional talent, and improving support policies. The government plans to expand incentive programs to attract international filmmakers and long-term investment. With diverse shooting locations, top-notch production teams, and modern facilities, Thailand is striving to create a world-class film production environment that fosters creativity and allows local stories to resonate globally.
