Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has released the 2026 Michelin Guide Thailand, which includes 468 restaurants nationwide. The guide showcases the creativity, quality, and sustainability of Thai cuisine, further solidifying Thailand's position as a vibrant culinary destination in Asia.

TAT Governor Thapane Kiatpaipur stated that the 2026 guide demonstrates Thailand's commitment to quality and responsible dining. The exceptional quality of its restaurants will continue to attract high-end international tourists, aligning with the TAT's "value over quantity" development strategy.

This year's guide marks several significant breakthroughs: Sühring restaurant has been upgraded to three stars, becoming Thailand's second three-Michelin-starred restaurant; Anne-Sophie Pic and INDDEE of Le Normandie have been upgraded from one star to two stars; seven new restaurants have been added to the Michelin one-star list (including four upgraded from Michelin Select); and GOAT restaurant has received a Michelin Green Star, bringing the total number of Thai restaurants with sustainability certification to five. Gwendal Prenek, International Director of the Michelin Guide, commented that Thailand's culinary landscape continues to evolve, with a wider range of cuisines and an increasing number of Michelin-starred restaurants, making Thailand increasingly prominent on the global gastronomic map.

The guide also introduced the inaugural "Michelin Guide Mentor Chef Award," with David Thompson, chef of Aksorn and Chop Chop Cook Shop, receiving the award. Special awards were also announced, including the Young Chef Award, the Best New Restaurant of the Year Award, and the Service Award, recognizing outstanding culinary professionals in service, innovation, and talent development.

Overall, the 2026 guide includes 2 three-star restaurants, 8 two-star restaurants, 33 one-star restaurants, 5 Green Star restaurants, 137 Bib Gourmand restaurants, and 288 Michelin Select restaurants. Thapane added that food is a core pillar of Thailand's tourism industry, and the guide's achievements confirm Thailand's status as a global culinary powerhouse.
