Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – At 15:50 on November 26th, Aqia Airlines' first direct flight from Tel Aviv to Bangkok (flight number IZ591) arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The launch of this route marks a strategic expansion of Thailand's long-haul air transport and will help the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) cultivate high-potential source markets.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Ms. Pongsiri, Director of European Marketing at Aqia Airlines, and Ms. Maitar, Chief Operating Officer, with the participation of Thai public and private tourism partners. Ms. Pongsiri stated that the direct flight not only improves Thailand's long-haul route network but also strengthens Thailand's competitiveness in the global high-end resort market.

It is understood that the route will be operated by a 286-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft, with one flight each Monday and Wednesday, providing passengers with a new option besides Israel's national airline. The TAT and Aqia Airlines will also jointly conduct promotional activities to further stimulate market demand.

Israel is Thailand's core source market in the Middle East. From January to November 17, 2025, Thailand received over 356,000 Israeli tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of nearly 50%. Israeli tourists are characterized by high spending and long stays, averaging 86,406 baht per trip and staying for 19.17 days. They prefer independent travel, family trips, and wellness experiences.

With the reopening of Israeli airspace in mid-2025, Thailand's related flight bookings are expected to remain among the top ten globally. The Tourism Authority of Thailand predicts that by the end of 2025, the number of Israeli tourists visiting Thailand will exceed 400,000, potentially generating 34.56 billion baht in tourism revenue.
