Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, a Chinese film exhibition tour in Thai universities, hosted by the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association and co-organized by the Film Academy of the China Academy of Art, Rajamangala University of Technology Thaniaburi, Chitralada Technical College, Rajamangala University of Technology Bangkok, and Rajamangala University of Technology Northeastern Thailand, was launched in Bangkok on the 6th.
As the first academic exchange activity of a Chinese film exhibition tour held in Thai universities, this event, themed "Film Connects Chinese and Thai Youth," aims to build a platform for exchange between Chinese and Thai youth through the international language of film, deepen cultural understanding and people-to-people connectivity, further narrow the distance between the youth of China and Thailand, and enhance the feelings and friendship between the two sides.
On the opening day of the event, Phochin Pongrajun, former Speaker of the Thai Parliament and President of the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association, said in his speech that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. Holding an academic exhibition tour of Chinese films is a commemoration and celebration of this important historical moment, which will help deepen people-to-people friendship and further consolidate and develop the traditional friendship between the two countries. The event aims to bring young people from China and Thailand closer together and enhance their friendship.
Xu Xiaoming, Dean of the Film Academy at the China Academy of Art, stated that Chinese films contain rich elements of Chinese culture. Holding a film festival at a Thai university provides a vivid platform for showcasing Chinese culture, helping to disseminate it more widely among Thai youth and promoting greater exchange and cooperation between young people from both countries in film creation.
This screening features two outstanding Chinese films selected for academic exchange on Thai campuses: the documentary film *Great! Youngsters*, focusing on the growth and dreams of teenagers, and *Departure*, a film depicting the enlightenment of young Mao Zedong. Both films are important representatives of Chinese cinema in recent years, having been selected for multiple international film festivals and nominated for numerous awards, showcasing the diversity and depth of Chinese cinema.
It is understood that this touring exhibition will continue until August 13th, and will also include a Sino-Thai film masters' thematic exchange forum and a Thai university student film support program. (End)
