Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2025 China Aerospace Science Popularization Conference and the 9th National Youth Drone Competition Finals, which opened in Chongqing on the 15th, featured competitions on drone applications and design, including aerial sniping challenges, creative graphic programming competitions, aerial soccer, aerial combat, and logistics handling.

This event, themed "Pursuing Dreams in the New Era of Aerospace, Shining Stars in Chongqing Towards the Future," attracted widespread participation. The 9th National Youth Drone Competition alone drew approximately 150,000 participants. After rounds of selection at the city and provincial levels, about 17,000 contestants from nearly 6,000 schools across 32 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China, as well as Hong Kong and Macau, advanced to the finals.

The finals comprised 5 categories and 24 events, covering drone shooting, air-to-air coordination, air-to-ground coordination, graphic programming, combat sports, logistics transportation, and drone design and manufacturing, involving many cutting-edge fields.

Zhang Jinghao, a 9-year-old contestant from Fujian, skillfully explained the technical essentials of the aerial sniping challenge to the audience. He stated that the challenge of quickly avoiding obstacles while accurately hitting the target severely tests the contestants' hand-eye coordination and on-the-spot reaction abilities.

Ye Feilong, a judge in the Powered Aircraft Creative Competition, explained that contestants must build their own aircraft. Judges primarily score the aircraft's structure and flight time to determine the winner. This event mainly tests the contestants' knowledge and practical skills.

In addition, events such as aerial soccer and team relay flying tests the participants' teamwork abilities. At the creative graphics programming competition, contestants presented a "drone performance show" accompanied by music and poetry recitations.

Zhao Chuandong, one of China's first astronauts, said that aerospace and traditional industries have a mutually penetrating, mutually promoting, and synergistic relationship, serving as the "engine" for socio-economic development and technological progress.

This event, jointly organized by the Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Chinese Society of Astronautics, and the Office of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China for Military-Civilian Integration Development, will continue until August 18th. (End)
