A Cambodian man was arrested after stealing a police car in broad daylight.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the afternoon of May 11, 2025, a man boldly broke into a police station in Svay Rieng City, Svay Rieng Province, and stole a police patrol car. He was eventually apprehended by the police in a swift operation.

  According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 5 PM that day. By 7 PM that evening, police officers in Svay Rieng City had still not seen the patrol car return, so they reviewed CCTV footage. Shockingly, the footage showed a man sneaking into the police station and driving the vehicle away.

  The Svay Rieng City Police Chief, Gao Ledi, took the matter very seriously and immediately contacted the Kampong Lo District Police Chief, deploying a joint investigation. After a thorough investigation, the police successfully identified the suspect and eventually arrested him in Kampong Lo District.

  The arrested suspect was identified as 28-year-old Ong Wee Tse. Under interrogation, Ong Wee Tse confessed to the crime of stealing the police car from the Svay Rieng City Police Station. According to his confession, after committing the crime, he drove a police car eastward along Highway 1 and was successfully intercepted by police upon entering Kampong Lo district.

  The case is currently under further investigation.
