Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – At 11:20 PM on the 12th, passenger train Y925 departed from Urumqi Station, kicking off this winter's Xinjiang railway ice and snow tourism season. Nearly 100 tourists from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Tianjin, and other places boarded the special train, traveling directly from Urumqi to Altay for a four-day ice and snow journey.
As winter approaches, Xinjiang tourism remains popular. Altay Prefecture, known as the "birthplace of skiing," attracts numerous domestic and international tourists and ski enthusiasts every winter due to its unique and high-quality ice and snow resources.
The tourist train offers advantages such as dedicated berths, flexible scheduling, and overnight service, allowing tourists to visit multiple attractions in one trip. This tourist train uses the "New Oriental Express" carriages and operates on an overnight-departure, overnight-arrival model. Tourists rest on the train overnight and arrive in Altay early the next morning, where they can then transfer to a dedicated tourist bus to reach the scenic spots. To enhance the travel experience for tourists, the special tourist train is equipped with a doctor on board, a train concierge, and provides essential travel items such as commonly used medicines and hot water bottles. "To cater to the needs of ski enthusiasts, we have also set up a dedicated ski equipment storage area on the train, with staff responsible for its safekeeping, making it convenient for skiers," said Wang Beibei, manager of the Tourism Department of Xinjiang Railway Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd.
