Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A press conference for the 44th Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup and the Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup Super Invitational Tournament was held in Guangzhou on the 10th. It was announced that the first leg of the 44th Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup will be held at the Hong Kong Stadium on December 28th at 7:30 PM, and the second leg will be held at the Greater Bay Area Cultural and Sports Center Stadium in Nansha District, Guangzhou on January 3rd, 2026 at 4:30 PM.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup is a traditional football tournament between Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, aiming to promote exchanges between the two regions. Teams from the Guangdong Football Association and the Hong Kong Football Association will each play a match, one in Guangzhou and one in Hong Kong. In the previous 43 editions, Guangdong has won the championship 26 times, and Hong Kong has won it 17 times.
It is understood that to expand the influence of the Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup and promote the development and prosperity of social football in the Greater Bay Area, the 2026 Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup Super Invitational Tournament will be held in Sanshui, Foshan and Guangzhou from December 27th, 2025 to January 1st, 2026.
The tournament is divided into two stages. The first stage, a round-robin group stage with 5 matches (3 rounds), is held at the Yunxiushan Stadium in Sanshui District, Foshan. The second stage, including the opening ceremony and 4 knockout matches (2 rounds), is held at the Guangdong Provincial People's Stadium in Guangzhou. (End)
