Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 11th, the Yidu Public Security Bureau in Hubei Province announced that it had successfully cracked a case involving the provision of programs and tools for illegally intruding into and controlling computer information systems during the "Clean Network – 2025" and "Sword Network – 2025" special operations. The bureau dismantled a cross-provincial criminal gang that produced and sold "cheat codes" for tactical competitive games, arresting 15 suspects.
In May 2025, officers from the Yidu Public Security Bureau's Cyber Security Brigade discovered that a local resident was repeatedly promoting and selling various game cheat codes in their WeChat Moments, WeChat groups, and live streams. The police immediately launched an investigation.
The investigation revealed that the game cheat codes he was selling bypassed the game platform's security protections through physical hardware, directly reading game memory data and illegally obtaining other players' locations, health, equipment, and other non-public information. This cheating method damaged the integrity of the game company's computer information system, potentially causing data leaks and other wider cybersecurity risks.
The Yidu City Public Security Bureau quickly established a special task force for in-depth analysis. Through long-term investigation, a criminal chain involving the production, supply, and distribution of a game cheat software gradually emerged.
In July, officers from the task force traveled to Guangdong, Hunan, Guangxi, and other locations, arresting 15 suspects, including core technical personnel and agents at various levels. The operation successfully dismantled the entire criminal gang, achieving a complete crackdown on the entire chain. More than 100 pieces of equipment, including secondary machines, DMA boards, KMBOXes, and video fusion devices, were seized at the scene. The case involved over 3 million yuan.
Currently, all 15 suspects have been placed under criminal coercive measures according to law, and the case is under further investigation. (End)
