Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On December 7th, a themed event, "Law Nourishes the Hometown of Overseas Chinese, Songs Connect the World," commemorating the 35th anniversary of the promulgation of the Law on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Returned Overseas Chinese and Their Relatives, was held in Nanning, Guangxi.

Chen Jieying, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, stated in her address that this event integrated legal publicity, cultural exchange, and health services, aiming to cultivate awareness among overseas Chinese communities regarding acting in accordance with the law, seeking legal solutions when encountering problems, resolving issues through legal means, and relying on the law to resolve conflicts. It also aimed to foster a positive atmosphere of respecting the Constitution and upholding the rule of law within the overseas Chinese community, thereby making a greater contribution to the construction of a rule-of-law Guangxi.

This event, hosted by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and co-organized by the Guangxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese Legal Advisory Committee, the Guangxi Overseas Chinese Art Troupe, and the Guangxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese Special Expert Committee, used legal Q&A sessions, song and dance performances, and other formats to build a platform for compatriots at home and abroad to share their hometown sentiments, discuss development, and build a united front, effectively enhancing the sense of identity and belonging to the Chinese nation among returned overseas Chinese, their families, and overseas Chinese.

A legal education area was set up at the event, inviting lawyers and experts to provide free legal consultations and promote overseas Chinese law.

The organizers also set up a free medical clinic area, inviting experts from relevant hospitals to provide on-site medical services to the public. In the overseas Chinese cuisine exhibition area, the organizers displayed Southeast Asian specialties prepared by returned overseas Chinese and their families, and invited the public to sample them.

It is understood that, as a fundamental law in China's overseas Chinese affairs field, the "Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Returned Overseas Chinese and Their Families," promulgated and implemented for 35 years, has provided a solid legal guarantee for safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of returned overseas Chinese, their families, and overseas Chinese. As a key hometown of overseas Chinese in China, Guangxi will further promote the rule of law in protecting overseas Chinese and guide the overseas Chinese community to enhance their legal awareness.
