Floods in Pursat province, Cambodia, have affected 3,500 households.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Due to continuous heavy rainfall, water levels in Pursat province in northwestern Cambodia have risen sharply, triggering severe flooding that has affected five districts and cities in the province. As of now, approximately 3,500 households have been affected, with 545 households having been evacuated to safety.

  Songkin Somoni, spokesperson for the Cambodian National Committee for Disaster Management, stated that the flood situation in Pursat province has not yet fully eased.

  It is reported that since November 18th, heavy rains in the upstream areas of Pursat province have triggered the flooding. As of November 22nd, the floods have inundated five districts and cities (affecting 22 communes/districts) within the province, impacting approximately 3,500 households.

  Currently, the Cambodian National Committee for Disaster Management and local governments are closely monitoring the situation and continuing rescue and relief efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property of those affected.
