Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On November 20th, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Bureau (C04) of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security officially announced the cracking of Case No. 825P, initiating investigations against 13 suspects and seizing 777 kilograms of synthetic drugs.

According to C04, in early July this year, investigative forces discovered suspicious activity by Tran Quoc Huy and Duong Cao Huy (both from Hanoi). Simultaneously, the Narcotics and Crime Prevention Bureau under the Border Guard Command discovered a drug trafficking route controlled by Tran Duc Thanh (from Nghe An province) and Chau Anh Tuan (from Phu Tho province), directly linked to the aforementioned suspects.

Given the transnational nature, exceptionally large scale, tight organization, and extremely covert methods of this drug trafficking network, the two units decided to jointly investigate, establishing Case No. 825P.

Based on the evidence gathered and the progress of the case, and with approval from higher authorities, at 21:30 on September 21, in Phu Tho province, Phu Tien commune, C04, in conjunction with the Narcotics and Crime Prevention Department and multiple specialized teams and local police, simultaneously launched an operation, arresting Zhou Yingjun and three other related suspects. An emergency search was conducted of their residences and drug storage locations, seizing 706 kilograms of synthetic drugs, a vacuum sealing machine (used for packaging drugs), and numerous related documents.

Simultaneously, 10 task forces located in multiple locations acted concurrently, arresting 11 other suspects in the network and seizing over 70 kilograms of synthetic drugs. These individuals were key members of the organization, regularly purchasing drugs from the main leader and then reselling them for profit. To date, the task force has initiated investigations against 13 individuals involved in the case, and a total of 777 kilograms of synthetic drugs have been seized.

During further investigation, the task force confirmed that Tran Van Quyet (40 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City) was wanted by the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department on two counts of illegal drug trafficking and was currently hiding near the Golden Triangle region. During his time on the run, he colluded with some Vietnamese nationals abroad to establish multiple smuggling routes for large quantities of drugs from the Golden Triangle to Vietnam, including one controlled by Chau Anh Jun.

C04 stated that "Operation 825P" was a particularly significant achievement, demonstrating the close coordination and efficient cooperation between C04 and the Border Guard's Narcotics and Crime Prevention Department. This successful operation not only dismantled a major transnational drug trafficking network but also showcased the unity and strength of law enforcement in combating drug crimes.

To commend the outstanding contributions of both units, on October 6, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of commendation, highly praising the proactive spirit, resolute fighting will, heroic and resourceful performance of the participating forces, as well as the close cooperation between the military and police in combating drug crimes, and their important contributions to maintaining national security, social order, and the peaceful lives of the people.
