Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A premeditated armed escape of prisoners recently occurred at the Svay Rieng Provincial Primary Court in Cambodia, drawing widespread national attention. Police acted swiftly, arresting all seven suspects, including the accomplices, on the evening of the incident.

The Vietnamese woman involved, Nguyen Thi Hai Van (transliteration), successfully helped six prisoners, including her husband Phan Van Bao, escape by threatening them with a gun during their transport to the court.

According to Nguyen Thi Hai Van's confession, the operation was meticulously planned: On the 14th of this month, she rented a car from a Cambodian man. On the 16th, she purchased a handgun for $1,500 from an unidentified man in Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, via the instant messaging app Telegram. On the 17th, she drove to Svay Rieng Province and stayed overnight. On the morning of the 18th, she parked her car outside the provincial primary court and then entered the court grounds to await her opportunity.

On the morning of the 18th of this month, as prison guards transported six prisoners, including Nguyen Thi Hai Van's husband, Phan Van Bao, to the court, Nguyen Thi Hai Van quickly retrieved a handgun from her clothing and handed it to her husband as they disembarked.

Her husband, Phan Van Bao, then used the gun to threaten prisoners, successfully escaping with his accomplices and fleeing the lower court.

Following the incident, Cambodian police took it very seriously and quickly launched a manhunt. Through efficient coordination and deployment, police apprehended all seven suspects involved in the case (including six escaped prisoners and one woman who assisted them) by the evening of the same day, promptly eliminating a potential threat to society and upholding the dignity of the law.
