
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Dak Lak Provincial Police Department in Vietnam announced on the morning of November 20th that, in response to the severe flooding in the province, its departments and affiliated organizations have urgently mobilized resources to transport essential supplies and emergency materials to affected residents.
Specifically, the Youth Work Committee, Women's Work Committee, and Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police Department mobilized youth members to load 10 tons of essential supplies onto three trucks for timely assistance to those still affected by the floods. Two trucks departed on the morning of the 20th for various locations in eastern Dak Lak province, while one truck departed on the evening of the 19th for Duong Mao and Cu Bu Yi communes, which remained under severe flooding and traffic disruptions.
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Police Department, in addition to providing emergency supplies to affected residents, the department has also mobilized resources and equipment, including 122 vehicles and 40 motorboats and boats, to assist in flood relief efforts and maintain order in the disaster areas. In addition, police forces in various communes and wards organized rescue efforts during the floods to assist local residents in overcoming their difficulties.
As of 4 PM on November 19th, the floods in Dak Lak province had resulted in one death; eight houses were washed away or collapsed; 22,938 houses were flooded; 1,123 families were trapped and isolated; and 7,765 households required emergency evacuation, having already been relocated to safety. Due to the continued rise in water levels, the number of flooded houses may increase further.
In Gia Lai province, on November 20th, while conducting rescue and relief work for flood victims across the province, the provincial police force, together with philanthropists and businesses from both inside and outside the province, prepared meals and drinking water for those trapped.
In areas where the floodwaters had not yet receded, facing hundreds of households facing hunger and thirst, the police force used motorboats, pontoons, and other means to transport food to the people.
Major General Le Quang Nhan, Director of the Gia Lai Provincial Police Department, stated that the police force had been working tirelessly for the past few days to rescue and assist people in evacuating to safety. Even after the rains cease, police forces must continue to care for and support the affected population while carrying out rescue and relief efforts, ensuring no one goes hungry or cold.
On the evening of the 19th, in a key flooded area within the Quy Nhon Bac district, Major General Le Quang Nhan instructed officers and soldiers to overcome all difficulties, further enhance their sense of responsibility, and actively cooperate with the local government, military, and civilians in rescue work, helping residents evacuate and overcome the consequences of the floods.
From November 17th to the early morning of November 20th, the province's police forces have evacuated over 12,000 people and successfully rescued more than 500 to safe shelters, and are continuing to respond to other requests for assistance. (End)
