A serious traffic accident in Kampong Thom province, Cambodia, has left 13 dead and 24 injured.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A double-decker bus traveling from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh was involved in a serious traffic accident in the early hours of the 20th of this month in Som Tho district, Kampong Thom province, resulting in 13 deaths and 24 injuries.

  According to reports from the scene, the double-decker bus was traveling from Siem Reap to the capital, Phnom Penh. When the bus reached the accident site, it is suspected that the driver was fatigued or drowsy, causing the vehicle to suddenly lose control.

  The out-of-control bus then violently crashed into a bridge structure on the side of the road. The massive impact caused it to veer off the road and eventually overturn or fall into a ditch. The accident resulted in significant casualties among the passengers.

  After the incident, local police and rescue teams immediately rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations. The 24 injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bodies of the 13 victims have been temporarily placed at the Khao Kho temple in Som Tho district.

  Relevant departments are making every effort to contact the families of the deceased to facilitate the identification of the bodies and the handling of subsequent funeral arrangements.
