A Chinese man was arrested in Phnom Penh for stealing over $110,000 worth of valuables.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A Chinese man is suspected of breaking into a clinic and stealing cash and jewelry worth approximately US$112,450 from a safe. Police launched a swift investigation after receiving a report and successfully arrested the suspect on the 7th of this month.

  According to the Por Sen Chey District Police Chief, Mong Woodi, the arrested Chinese man is Zhang Dian Wei (37 years old), residing in Sangkat Koh 2, Por Sen Chey District.

  It is understood that the clinic owner traveled to Mondulkiri Province on the 4th of this month. When he returned to his clinic in Por Sen Chey District at approximately 4:30 AM on the 5th, he found the clinic door open and signs of burglary. More seriously, the safe inside had been pried open, and all the cash and various jewelry inside had been stolen.

  The stolen items were of substantial value, exceeding US$110,000. The stolen items included approximately US$45,000 in cash and various jewelry worth over US$67,000, including diamond rings, diamond bracelets, gold bracelets, gold necklaces, and gold rings.

  After receiving a report from the victim, the Por Sen Chey District Police immediately organized law enforcement forces to conduct a thorough investigation and tracking operation. Finally, at 9:30 AM on the 7th of this month, the police successfully arrested the aforementioned male suspect.

  During interrogation, the male suspect confessed to breaking into the clinic and stealing cash and jewelry worth approximately US$112,450.

  Currently, the male suspect has been sent to the Por Sen Chey District Police Station for legal proceedings and will be transferred to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for further legal processing.
