According to reports, at 18:30 on the 4th, the Sanya Maritime Search and Rescue Sub-center received a distress call from two tourists from Guangxi who were stranded at sea in a sampan due to gale-force winds (level 6) and waves up to 3 meters high.
After verifying the situation, the Sanya Maritime Search and Rescue Sub-center immediately activated its maritime search and rescue emergency plan, notified relevant departments of the emergency, coordinated the dispatch of search and rescue forces, and organized the "Haixun 1103" patrol boat, fireboat, and the "Haitang Zhixing 3" vessel to conduct the search and rescue operation.

At 19:58, the two tourists were successfully rescued and brought aboard the patrol boat. Exhausted from battling the wind and waves for an extended period, the tourists were slumped in the cabin, unable to move on their own. Staff immediately provided them with warm clothing, hot food, and hot water to help them regain body temperature. Currently, both individuals are out of danger and their condition is improving.
The maritime authorities remind the public that this is currently a period of frequent typhoons, cold waves, and strong winds. The sea conditions are complex and risky, with strong winds and rough seas. To ensure the safety of life and property, all vessels operating at sea must closely monitor real-time weather and sea condition warnings, plan their routes in advance, and proceed to the nearest safe waters or return to port to seek shelter from the storm. Recreational fishing boats, yachts, kayaks, and other non-operational vessels are strictly prohibited from going to sea. Coastal residents should not go to the beach to watch the waves or go beachcombing to avoid accidents caused by large waves and storm surges. In case of emergency, please immediately call the national unified maritime distress hotline 12395 to seek assistance from the maritime authorities. (End)
