Fifteen Vietnamese chess players will compete in the 2025 Southeast Asian Chess Championship.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Vietnamese chess team has arrived in the Philippines, sending 15 top players to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian Chess Championship, to be held from November 2nd to 10th.

  The Vietnamese team boasts a strong lineup, including: Pham Tran Gia Phuc, Nguyen Duc Hoa, Tran Tuan Minh, Dang Hoang Son, Nguyen Quoc Tuy, Nguyen Van Huy, Dinh Nhu Kiet, Duong Vu Anh, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, Bach Ngoc Thu Duong, Hoang Thi Bao Thanh, Nguyen Thi Thanh An, Nguyen Hong Anh, Nguyen Thanh Thu Tien, and Pham Tran Gia Tu.

  In the women's division, Grandmasters Hoang Thi Bao Thanh, Nguyen Thi Mai Hung, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Anh are considered leading figures in Vietnamese women's chess and are highly anticipated. In the men's division, Grandmaster Tran Tuan Minh is in excellent form, while young players such as Dinh Nhu Kiet, Nguyen Quoc Tuy, and Pham Tran Gia Phuc have also demonstrated strong potential.

  This is the sixth edition of the Southeast Asian Chess Championship. According to the organizing committee, the total prize money for the tournament is US$28,100. The men's standard tournament champion will receive US$2,000, the women's standard tournament champion will receive US$1,500, and the remaining prizes will be distributed based on the players' final scores. The tournament includes three events: standard chess, rapid chess, and blitz chess.

  In addition to players from Southeast Asia, this year's tournament is also open to teams from outside the region. It is expected that players from 23 teams will compete. (End)
