Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – "I'm delighted to see so many talented musicians among the public, and to see them having such a high-level performance stage and competition platform." Xing Hanming, a Wenzhou native and former champion of the 2019 "The Voice of China" singing competition, recently said this during the finals of the "Different Fireworks" Yueqing City's 27th "Zhongji Zhujing" Liuchuan Cup Singer Competition, held in Liushi Town, Yueqing City, Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province.
The resounding and sonorous folk singing styles, the breathtaking operatic style, the melodious and beautiful folk songs... For 37 years, this music competition has remained timeless. From its initial roots as a local karaoke "grassroots competition" to its current "cross-domain competition" bringing together professional musicians, it has become a rich cultural experience for the locals of Yueqing City and Liushi Town. "I'm a longtime spectator of the 'Liuchuan Cup.' My most direct impression is that each edition gets better and better." Aunt Chen, born in the 1980s and a native of Liushi Town, has watched this town-based music competition expand to the county and beyond the province. Now, it's moved from indoors to outdoors, offering audiences a unique musical feast.
On the day of the competition, the market in Liuyuan Ecological Park in Liushi Town opened, the lights shone, and the stage was ready. With the crisp autumn air and the arrival of night, the sounds of music from this small town resounded through the air, like a "different kind of fireworks" blooming in the hearts of the audience. Just a few kilometers away, in front of the Liushi Cultural Center Square, people gather every evening for singing, dancing, and other entertainment, becoming a vivid microcosm of the town's cultural benefits for the people.
"I think this is not only a grand gathering for musicians, but also a music and cultural festival for all." Lin Jingran, the Yueqing singer and composer of the competition's theme song, admitted that she had performed at major music competitions many years ago, and singing the theme song, "Liuchuan Ballad," brought her deep emotion. After preliminary online and offline auditions, this competition selected 30 singers to advance to the semifinals, from which 12 talented singers were chosen to compete in the finals. As the renowned "China's Electrical Appliance Capital," Liushi Town has, in recent years, utilized music as a key vehicle for shaping its image and enriching its cultural heritage. This industrial town, through its ongoing efforts to build a "City of Music," has infused Yueqing's high-quality development with a profound and moving cultural foundation. (End)
