
According to Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com), U Khin Maung Yee, a Union Minister of Myanmar, recently met in Nay Pyi Taw with Dr. Cordula Droege, Head of the Legal Division and the Division for the Red Cross Movement and Partnerships at the ICRC headquarters in Geneva. The two sides held specialized discussions on deepening humanitarian cooperation between Myanmar and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on consolidating the foundation of humanitarian cooperation, broadening the scope of collaboration, and optimizing cooperation models. They explored ways to ensure the standardized, systematic, and efficient implementation of humanitarian operations within Myanmar, aiming to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian aid and benefit more areas of public welfare.
The meeting was conducted in a pragmatic and efficient atmosphere and was attended by the ICRC Director-General and relevant officials from the Office of the President of Myanmar.
