  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reported yesterday morning that the first regular session of the Third People's Parliament of Myanmar continued in the Parliament Building of the Parliament House in Naypyidaw, the capital, marking the third day of the meeting.

  At the meeting, Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw (House of Nationalities), Aung Lin The, announced that all 213 delegates of the third session of the First Regular Session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw were present, achieving a 100% attendance rate and fully meeting the quorum requirement. The meeting officially commenced. The minutes of this meeting have been submitted to the Amyotha Hluttaw for review and approval and have been officially archived.

  The core agenda of the meeting revolved around the establishment and composition of four specialized committees: The Speaker proposed that Parliament approve a 15-member Bills Committee, with Daw Nwe Nwe Oo, representative of the Ayeyarwady Region Second Constituency (simple majority), serving as chair, and U Zin Min Htet, representative of the Bago Region First Constituency (proportional representation), serving as secretary. The committee's duties, powers, rights, and term of office were clearly defined, and the nomination was unanimously approved by Parliament. The Speaker also proposed the approval of a 15-member Public Accounts Committee, with U Kyi Swe, representative of the Ayeyarwady Region Second Constituency (proportional representation), serving as chair, and U Than Aung, representative of the Tanintharyi Region Second Constituency (unified constituency), serving as secretary. The relevant terms of office and responsibilities were approved by Parliament. Finally, the Speaker proposed the establishment of a 15-member Parliamentary Privileges Committee, with Zheng Peng Naw, representative of the Kachin State Second Constituency (unified constituency), serving as chair, and Aung Tin Min, representative of the Ayeyarwady Region First Constituency (people's representative system), serving as secretary. The relevant clauses regarding the committee's powers and responsibilities were approved by the House of Nationalities. A proposal was made to establish a Government Guarantee and Commitment Review Committee, chaired by U Hla Thein, representative of Bago Region's Second Constituency (proportional representation), and U Yan Naing Oo, representative of Yangon Region's Second Constituency (proportional representation), as secretary. The committee's duties, powers, and terms of office were reviewed and approved by Parliament. The meeting adjourned after successfully completing all its agenda items.
