
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council, General Min Aung Hlaing, recently visited Lah and Laishe in the Naga Self-Administered Zone of Sagaing Region to hold meetings with local officials to discuss regional development projects. He emphasized that regardless of changes in government, the Myanmar Armed Forces will always prioritize national interests and called on all citizens to uphold the spirit of the Union and unite on the path of democracy.
The General and his delegation were warmly welcomed by the local people upon their arrival. At the meetings, local authorities reported on the current state of regional development and their demands, including the construction of a disaster management center, improvement of telecommunications facilities, promotion of border trade, ensuring power supply, and upgrading the Khattamty-Laishe-Sumara all-season road. They also expressed gratitude for the successful opening of the Chindwin Rahmanti Bridge. In response to local demands, General Min Aung Hlaing outlined key priorities: First, prioritizing improved regional transportation, continuously upgrading roads to ensure year-round accessibility in the Lah-Naung district; second, meeting public needs by deploying additional specialist doctors to fill gaps in the Lah town hospital, supplementing the number of junior assistant teachers, and ensuring the supply of educational and medical resources; third, strengthening industrial support by reclaiming highland farmland and constructing irrigation facilities, promoting the processing of agricultural and livestock products with small and medium-sized enterprises, and contributing to food security and increased income; and fourth, improving public facilities by planning and constructing festival venues, multi-functional halls, and traditional venues. Furthermore, the General specifically mentioned that a basic vocational, agricultural, and livestock education high school has been established in the Naga region, encouraging students to pursue further studies at relevant colleges in Homalin after graduation, thus cultivating local professionals.

Regarding political statements, General Min Aung Hlaing emphasized that although the elected government changes every five years, civil servants must uphold their duties, and the armed forces will always prioritize national interests; pursuing democracy requires a spirit of national unity to jointly maintain regional peace, stability, and socio-economic development. During the meeting, General Min Aung Hlaing presented gifts to local officials, and the Naga Autonomous Region leadership presented him with traditional headscarves, shawls, and other special gifts. The meeting was attended by Committee Secretary-General Yap Win Oo, Union Ministers, Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myo Kyaw, Northwest Military Command Commander, and representatives of ethnic minorities.
