
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) The inauguration ceremony of the Htamanthi Bridge in Chindwin, Myanmar, was recently held in Htamanthi Village, Homalin Township, Sagaing Region. Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council, General Min Aung Hlaing, attended the ceremony and witnessed the bridge's opening to traffic.
The ceremony commenced at an auspicious time. National Security and Peace Council Secretary-General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers U Myo Tun Oo, U Min Naw, and U Myo Than, and Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myo Kyaw jointly cut the ribbon, officially announcing the bridge's opening. Following this, General Min Aung Hlaing, together with the Council Secretary, unveiled the bridge plaque and, according to tradition, sprinkled perfume on the bridge surface as a gesture of respect.
At the ceremony, the Union Minister of Construction presented General Min Aung Hlaing with a commemorative gift, and the General presented cash awards to students and ethnic dance troupes present. Afterwards, the General and his entourage took commemorative photos on the bridge, strolled around the site, and inquired about the socio-economic conditions of the local residents who participated in the ceremony, extending greetings to the people. Also attending the inauguration ceremony were: Mrs. Dujujula, wife of General Min Aung Hlaing; Mrs. of the Committee Secretary; various Federal Ministers and their families; Chief Minister of Sagaing Region, U Myo Kyaw; senior officers of the General Headquarters and their families; Commander and Deputy Minister of the Northwest Military Region, and other guests.
The Chindwinjanthamanti Bridge is a reinforced concrete structure, 2,628 feet (approximately 801 meters) long, with a clearance height of 40 feet (approximately 12.2 meters). The bridge's completion will effectively improve travel conditions for residents of the Homalin District and the Naga Autonomous Region, facilitate regional development projects, enhance the efficiency of domestic goods transportation, and further improve local education, healthcare, and economic infrastructure, injecting strong momentum into the improvement of residents' socio-economic well-being.
