  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council, General Min Aung Hlaing, and his wife, Daw Khe Khe La, recently held an honorary banquet at Naypyidaw City Hall Square to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Union Day in 2026.

  Upon their arrival, General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife were greeted by Vice Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council, General Soe Win, and his wife; Council member and Prime Minister Zayah Kyaw Tin, and his wife; the Council Secretary and his wife; Union ministers and their spouses; and the Chairman of the Naypyidaw City Council and his wife.

  General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, along with General Soe Win and his wife, warmly welcomed the guests, including representatives of traditional ethnic cultural performance troupes from various regions and states; chairpersons and representatives of political parties; leaders and representatives of ethnic armed groups that signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement; owners of small and medium-sized enterprises from various regions and states; ministers of economic affairs and ministers of ethnic affairs; senior officers and their spouses from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services; Union ministers, Union-level officials and their spouses; and members of the Council and their spouses.

  General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife, along with guests, watched the fireworks display celebrating the 79th anniversary of Union Day in 2026.

  Following the fireworks display, General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife dined with distinguished guests. Before and after the dinner, singers and artists from the Myanmar Broadcasting Corporation presented cultural performances. After the dinner, the group watched a traditional dance performance by artists from the Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, as well as traditional arts groups from various ethnic groups, at the City Hall's open-air theater.

  Arts groups from the Kachin, Kayah, Karen, Chin, Burmese, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan ethnic groups, among others, took turns performing. After the performances, General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife presented flower baskets to the various cultural performance groups and extended their warm greetings.
