Myanmar police raided an online fraud and gambling ring in Shan State, arresting 330 Chinese nationals involved.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government has made combating telecom fraud and online gambling a national responsibility, actively coordinating domestic efforts and working with neighboring countries to prevent the spread of such crimes within Myanmar.

  To continuously advance the crackdown, joint security forces conducted aerial and ground surveillance and regional clearing operations in Mong Ai Township, northern Shan State, closely monitoring leads related to fraud and gambling, and precisely targeting and cracking down on such activities.

  Yesterday at approximately 7:00 AM, joint security forces discovered a suspicious complex of buildings near Hai Pu Village, about 35 kilometers southeast of Mong Ai Township. After investigation and search, the location was confirmed to be a den of online financial fraud and gambling activities, and arrests and raids were immediately launched. In this operation, 330 Chinese citizens suspected of involvement in online fraud and gambling activities were arrested, including 321 men and 9 women.

  During the raid, police simultaneously seized 15 temporary structures erected with green tarpaulins, 10 buildings under construction, as well as 2 generators, 208 mobile phones of various types, 86 all-in-one computers, 7 laptops, and 23 Starlink devices used in the crimes. Ten vehicles were also impounded.

  Currently, all seized items will be properly managed according to relevant legal procedures. Details of the individuals involved will be fully investigated, and legal action will be taken to hold them accountable.
