Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Myanmar government attaches great importance to combating online fraud and gambling, recognizing the serious threat these illegal activities pose to the international community. Currently, the Myanmar government is actively collaborating with neighboring countries, regional nations, and international organizations to identify, arrest, and severely punish operators of online fraud centers and their associated foreign associates. Simultaneously, the Myanmar government is legally verifying all foreign nationals entering the country and, while fully considering humanitarian concerns and friendly relations between nations, is repatriating those involved to their countries of origin.
It is reported that Cambodian police and relevant departments have transferred Myanmar citizens suspected of participating in online fraud and gambling activities in Cambodia to the Myanmar Embassy in Cambodia. To date, the Myanmar government has repatriated a total of 729 Myanmar citizens from Cambodia via Myanmar Airways (MAI) and Myanmar Armed Forces aircraft.
Of these, 543 repatriated citizens arrived in Dawei, Myanmar, on Myanmar Armed Forces aircraft and boarded Armed Forces vessels at the Dawei Saiknag pier, subsequently being transferred to the Myanmar Armed Forces ship "Mottama," anchored near Motthongyi village in Khun Soe township.
